INSTALLATION PROCESS

Weeks 1-2: Permitting, Cost Estimate & Loan Application

Empowerment Energies will coordinate a site visit by a licensed & bonded installation company engineer to provide a cost estimate of installation when it’s convenient for you. These estimated costs will incorporate both materials and labor. With that estimate we can begin moving forward with any loan application and bank underwriting (if needed). As much of the loan underwriting process is electronic, solar loans are some of the fastest issued loans available to the public.

Weeks 3-4: Installation & Inspection

One of the many solar installation companies we work with will schedule a time that works for you and move forward with the installation. Most of the work occurs on the exterior of the house and roof areas, so minimal impact of day-to-day life within the household should be expected. There may be brief periods when the whole-house power needs to be switched off, however such periods are temporary and for the safety of the installers. Tools, packaging & spare materials are collected then taken away while you are left with a beautiful solar energy system that’s ready to roll.

Weeks 4-7: Final Approvals

Your utility provider will want to inspect the final product after the local municipality has inspected to their satisfaction. This is to ensure that there are no conflicts with the net metering of the system and the components meet the utilities’ standards. Should any changes need to be made, your installer will make any necessary alterations to get your system up and running.

In as little as 45-60 days you can enjoy sending energy back into the system while reducing utility costs. Most fascinating of all, there are apps for your smartphone that monitor in real-time the efficiency of your system. You can literally watch as your system sends watts of energy back into the grid while doing your part to shrink your carbon footprint and add value to your home.
